Spacey was fired from the show in 2017 after accusations of sexual misconduct were brought against him by US actor Anthony Rapp when he was a teenager. The 58 year old actor said he didn't remember the encounter, releasing a statement saying, "if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour".

When asked if she had ever suspected Spacey could be capable of such behaviour, Wright said that their relationship on set was strictly professional.
"We were co-workers really, we never socialised outside of work. [We had] a respectful, professional relationship. He was so great with me. He was never disrespectful to me".
The upcoming season will be the series sixth and final.
