HousePlants supergroup announce debut album and share video for new single 'Companero'
Paul Noonan and Daithí have dropped a new track.
HousePlants, a new collaboration between Bell X1's Paul Noonan and producer Daithí, are set to release their debut album Dry Goods on September 7 of this year.
In somewhat of a departure from Paul's more well-known band's material, this new project delivers more of an electronic feeling on their new track, 'Companero'.
The accompanying music video features the frontman cycling through city streets. Paul says that the track was inspired by the happiness and celebration felt when Ireland voted for marriage equality in 2015.
It was about "the euphoria of the day when people gathered at Dublin Castle to celebrate that milestone in our journey towards becoming a more open, liberal society," he fondly remembers.
"It’s also a banger. It's fast and frenetic with Daithí adding the snarling synth to my singing and drumming."
"It was the first HousePlants song that we worked on from our respective caves during lockdown, lobbing our parts across the ether."
