Hozier and Fontaines D.C. are among the nominees for this year's MTV EMAs – with both acts going head to head in the Best Alternative category, and the Co. Wicklow star also in the running for Best UK & Ireland Act.

Also shortlisted in the best Best Alternative category are Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Rey, Twenty One Pilots, and YUNGBLUD.

For Best UK & Ireland Act, Hozier faces some tough competition in the form of Charli xcx, Dua Lipa, RAYE, Central Cee and Chase & Status.

Taylor Swift, meanwhile, scored the most nominations of any act, for a second year running. She received seven nominations, for Best Artist, Best Pop, Best Live, Biggest Fans, Best Collaboration ('Fortnight' feat. Post Malone), and Best Video ('Fortnight').

Ahead of the ceremony – taking place at Manchester's Co-op Live on Sunday, November 10 – the public can cast their vote for their favourite acts here.

The EMAs will be broadcast at 9pm on November 10 on MTV UK, Channel 5 and Pluto TV – and will be available on demand on Paramount+ from November 12.
