The Co. Wicklow star is expected to make a big leap on the charts this week.
Following the release of his Unheard EP last month, Hozier continues to make major waves with one of the project's stand-out tracks, 'Too Sweet' – which has clocked up nearly 103 million Spotify streams, and is now on course to become the Irish artist's first No.1 single in the UK this Friday.
Last Friday, it was announced that the single had leaped from No.8 in the UK to No.4. Now, according to Official Chart's midweek projections, it looks like 'Too Sweet' is soaring over Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things' and Beyoncé's 'TEXAS HOLD 'EM', to claim the top spot. It's a tight race, however, with 'Too Sweet' currently just under 1,000 chart units ahead of 'Beautiful Things'.
Despite spending an impressive 109 weeks on the chart, Hozier's breakthrough hit 'Take Me To Church' never claimed the top spot, and peaked at No.2 in the UK.
Over in the US, meanwhile, 'Too Sweet' is currently occupying the No.4 slot on the Billboard Hot 100, up from No.5 the week before.
Back in Ireland, the track leaped from No.7 to No.2 last Friday.

The Unheard EP is made up of four tracks recorded during the sessions for Hozier's latest album, Unreal Unearth.
"These are songs that might’ve made it to the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence and the outward ‘ascent’ respectively but could not for different reasons," he announced at the time. "I’m very glad I’ll get to share them with you.”
Unreal Unearth was the Co. Wicklow singer-songwriter's first to reach No.1 on the UK's Official Albums Chart last year. It was also his third consecutive Irish No.1 album.
In the midst of a busy run of North American, European and UK dates this summer, Hozier is set to headline Marlay Park in Co. Dublin on July 5.
