This year's Ivor Novello Awards nominations have been announced, with Hozier receiving a nod for 'Nina Cried Power' for best song musically and lyrically.
In the best song musically and lyrically category, Hozier is up against Alex Turner for the Arctic Monkeys' 'Four Out Of Five' and Ben Howard for 'Nica Libres At Dusk'. Other nominees for the Ivor Novello Awards, which will be held on May 23 at Grosvenor House in London, include George Daniel, Adam Hann, Matthew Healy and Ross MacDonald for best contemporary song (The 1975's 'Love It If We Made It') and Idles for best album (Joy As An Act Of Resistance).
Hozier's 'Nina Cried Power' is the lead song off his new LP, Wasteland, Baby!, which enjoyed a spot at the top of the Irish charts and also secured the No. 1 spot on the US charts, making him the fourth ever Irish artist to achieve this. Read our full cover story on Hozier here.
