Hozier's newest album Unreal Unearth is due to release later this summer.
Before the release of a new album later this summer, Hozier has dropped the video for his latest single, “Francesca,” giving fans another look into his upcoming project Unreal Earth.
The Anthony Byrne-directed clip features a live performance featuring Hozier and his eight-piece touring band. Anthony Byrne and Hozier had previously worked together on videos for 'Someone New' and 'Dinner and Diatribes'.
The track is inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, particularly the story of Francesca da Rimini in the 2nd Circle of Hell Canto V. According to Hozier, the track is taken out from the second circle, that of Lust.
The Francesca video is here! Collaborating with Anthony Byrne for a third time has been a gift. We made #SomeoneNew, #DinnerAndDiatribes and now #Francesca together.
This new video is one I have a particular soft spot for, I really hope you enjoy it!

Fans of the Hozier are getting a full view of the Irish star's own personal style in his latest video. The storm raging outside pays homage to the song. The scene inside is dirty, animalistic and cathartic, and builds into a perfect storm of voices for Dante's lovers to swirl around forever in.
With a powerful melody, the lyrics explore themes of love, and commitment while drawing parallels to the tragic love story of Francesca da Rimini. The track serves as a testament to the enduring power of love in the midst of challenges that could potentially shake one’s devotion.
According to Hozier, prior to its official release the song had only ever been played only twice, once in a private setting. Hozier admitted in an update to fans that "this is one that I have a particular soft spot for".
In addition to “Francesca,” Hozier's upcoming Unreal Unearth album will feature the songs 'Eat Your Young' and 'All Things End', both previously featuring on his Eat Your Young EP.
Hozier is set to play two sold-out summer gigs in Killarney and Dublin in June, and will follow that with a 44-date headlining tour across North America in September.
