'Too Sweet' topped the charts in multiple countries earlier this year
To mark the halfway point of the year, the UK's Official Charts Company have unveiled their biggest songs of 2024 so far – with Hozier featuring in the Top 5 with 'Too Sweet'.
The Co. Wicklow singer-songwriter – who headlines a major outdoor show at Marlay Park in Co. Dublin tomorrow, July 5 – lands in at No.5 on the newly published list. His track 'Too Sweet' follows Noah Kahan's 'Stick Season' at No.1, Teddy Swims' 'Lose Control' at No.2, Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things' at No.3, and Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso' at No.4.
'Too Sweet' was released in March, as part of the Unheard EP – a collection of songs recorded during the sessions for his chart-topping 2023 album Unreal Unearth.
"These are songs that might’ve made it to the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence and the outward ‘ascent’ respectively but could not for different reasons," he wrote online at the time. "I’m very glad I’ll get to share them with you."
The track was Hozier's first single to go No.1 in the UK – a position it held onto for two weeks. In the US, meanwhile, he became the first Irish act to go No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since Sinéad O'Connor in 1990 with 'Nothing Compares 2 U'.

'Too Sweet' also topped the charts in multiple other countries, including Ireland – where it was No.1 for three consecutive weeks.
