Earlier this year, 'Too Sweet' became the Irish star's first single to go No.1 in the UK – a position it held onto for two weeks
The UK's Official Charts Company has unveiled its list of the biggest songs of 2024 so far – with Hozier's 'Too Sweet' scoring the No.5 spot.
'Too Sweet' was released in March, as part of the Unheard EP – a collection of songs recorded during the sessions for the Co. Wicklow artist's chart-topping 2023 album Unreal Unearth.
"These are songs that might’ve made it to the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence and the outward ‘ascent’ respectively but could not for different reasons," he remarked at the time. "I’m very glad I’ll get to share them with you."
The track was Hozier's first single to go No.1 in the UK – a position it held onto for two weeks. In the US, meanwhile, he became the first Irish act to go No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since Sinéad O'Connor in 1990 with 'Nothing Compares 2 U'.
'Too Sweet' also topped the charts in multiple other countries, including Ireland, where it was No.1 for three consecutive weeks.

In today's list, Noah Kahan's 'Stick Season' scores the No.1 spot, followed by Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things' (No.2), Teddy Swims' 'Lose Control' (No.3), and Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso' (No.4).
