traditional rootrockers, as well as those who populate the hip underground.
The band's singer and spokeswoman, Ambrosia Parsley (yes, it's her real name) is one of those snake-hipped alternative rock queens who sings about sleeping with guns and who begins one of her songs "I think I hate you, isn't this fun?"
And there is a lot more to it. I Ought... is an interesting, offbeat and very atmospheric album. Musically the band reside in the land of country and folk flavoured rock. On top of that, they have added influences as diverse as marching beats, bluegrass and even the odd hip-hop beat.

Parsley's vocals are superb throughout, at times bringing to mind that other mistress of moody underground folkrock, Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star.
An impressive debut that deserves to be discovered.
