While the title track may well have Jay Hawkins spinning as well as screamin’ in his grave, despite being produced by the marvellous Transglobal Underground, ‘Soliel D’Egypte’ is a sublime Arabesque outing (think Bedouin Berlin cabaret) and ‘Manbai’, with Nitin Sawney at the controls, is a clunkier, funkier effort. I’m off for a mixed Meshwe.
