The news was confirmed by the club Amnesia where the artist had a residency during the ‘80s.
DJ Alfredo, Ibiza dance scene legend, has died aged 71. The news was shared by Amnesia, a club where the musician had a residency during the ‘80s.
The post read: “Thank you for the nights and beats we shared together. Your music and vision shaped the sound of Balearic Beat and the soul of Amnesia. So many memories were made through your energy, your legacy will live on our dancefloor forever. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Alfredo.”
Although no cause of death has been shared, it was reported in 2021 that the DJ had suffered a stroke. The aftermath of this saw multiple fundraisers launched to help the musician deal with medical expenses and the costs of a retirement home.
Born in Argentina in 1953, Alfredo Fiorito, known as DJ Alfedro, began developing his DJ skills after settling in Ibiza while working as a retailer.
DJ Alfredo assumed charge of the club Amnesia after the owner left, changing the opening hours of the club to 3am to midday and picking up ravers after other clubs had closed.
The artist gained status for an all-inclusive eclecticism, merging all forms of dance music, and contributing to the defined Ibiza sound.

Several artists from the dance music genre have shared tributes for Alfredo, including Rowetta and Carl Cox.
Alfredo DJed regularly until the 2010s. His son Jaime Fiorito now tours as a DJ.
