IDLES' fifth album TANGK has been announced for a February 16th 2024 release date
Bristol post punk band IDLES have announced their forthcoming fifth album, 'TANGK' which the group have described as 'righteous and vibrant'. 'TANGK' is set to be an 11-track follow up to their Grammy-nominated CRAWLER.
'TANGK' was co-produced by Nigel Godrich (who has produced the likes of Radiohead, The Smile, and Beck), IDLES' own Mark Bowen, and American DJ Kenny Beats who worked with the group on their latest album 'CRAWLER'.
'TANGK'—pronounced "'tank' with a whiff of a g", is intended an onomatopoeic reference to the lashing way guitars sound. The upcoming record is a life-affirming, head-thrashing dose of rock n' roll goodness.
Speaking about the upcoming album on the band's Instagram, lead singer Joe Talbot says of TANGK: "I needed love. So I made it.'

While IDLES fans have to wait til February next year to hear TANGK, the first single of the album 'Dancer' is out today complete with a music video which you can check out below:
'Dancer' also offers something for LCD Soundsystem fans with backing vocal's provided by James Murphy and Nancy Whang. 'Dancer' is a playful and scuzzy track, featuring what was an improvised hook by Talbot.
Joe Talbot tells us "’Dancer’ is the violence that comes from the pounding heart of the dancefloor and rushes through your body and gives you life from music, from love and from you."
'Dancer' offers a tantalising glimpse into an album promising heavy bass, dirty guitar riffs and joyous vocals. TANGK promises to be an album of gratitude and power.
