Talbot will read Under the Love Umbrella written by Davina Bell and illustrated by Alison Colpoys.
Joe Talbot, vocalist for punk-rock band IDLES, will rock bedtime routines by reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story to families across the UK tonight.
Talbot will read Under the Love Umbrella by Davina Bell, with illustrations from Alison Colpoys. The story follows four children as they navigate the world under their love umbrellas, which mirrors the assurance of love and protection from their families wherever they go.
The Bristol rocker is the latest star to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story and joins a dazzling lineup of famous musicians including Dolly Parton, Harry Styles, Dave Grohl, Sir Elton John, Christine and the Queens, Ed Sheeran and Gregory Porter.
“It’s an honour to announce that I am reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story,” said the singer in a statement. “I can NOT express how much I love reading to my kid so this was a welcome twist in an already beautiful career. All love.”
Our very own Joe Talbot will be reading the @CBeebiesHQ bedtime story ‘Under the Love Umbrella’ by Davina Bell and Allison Colpoys this evening at 6:50pm. One for all the family. Tune in. pic.twitter.com/XuTv73UWzS

IDLES released their latest album Tangk last week, which Hot Press called a "crack of light for these dark days." The new LP unveils the band's softer side, with Talbot trading in howls for crooned hums. It seems fitting that this new era sees its members embracing such warmth, especially with their vocalist's stint on CBeebies.
Talbot’s story will air today, 20 February, at 18:50pm GMT on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
