The end for AllofMP3 appears to be nigh with Visa and Mastercard both refusing transactions that involve the controversial Russian download service.
Despite claims from AllofMP3 that “the company has been unfairly characterised as a pirate website”, the general music industry consensus is that they’ve been flouting international copyright law by allowing major artist albums to be downloaded for as little as $1.
The Danish government have gone even further by ordering the country’s ISPs to block access to it.
This is good news for the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) who told Hot Press earlier this year that they strenuously object to AllofMP3’s activities.
IRMA stepped up their own campaign against illegal fire sharing on October 19 when they announced legal actions against 10 people allegedly involved in the practice.
