With recommendations from the Irish AI Advisory Council, the event will provide a framework for musicians to use AI without losing their rights.
AI:OK is set to host a free event on May 22 at Dublin’s National Concert Hall, discussing the use of AI within creative industries.
The event will be free of charge, and include experts in the fields of AI, music and policy. CEO and founder of AI:OK, Dr. Martin Clancy, will be joined on stage by Prof. Noel O'Connor, Anna McPartlin and Ciaran Conroy. Clancy is a Senior AI Research Fellow at Insight Research Ireland Centre for Data Analytics at DCU and a Policy Fellow at Trinity College Dublin’s Long Room Hub.
“AIM Ireland view the launch of AI:OK as an important milestone for ethical AI in the music industry, providing assurance that both creators and consumers can rely on the technology influencing the future of music,” the Association of Independent Music Ireland wrote in a statement. Conroy is acting CEO of the organisation.

O’Connor works as the CEO of Insight Research Ireland Centre for Data Analytics, while McPartlin is a best-selling author, film producer and screenwriter for RTE’s Gone.
“Ensuring the ethical use of AI in music is vital for all independent music publishers, songwriters and creators,” wrote Association of Independent Music Publishers in a statement. “We are pleased to see AI:OK taking this issue seriously and working toward a solution that preserves the positives aspects of AI for creators while mitigating its risks. We stand in support.”
