The new issue of Hot Press is finally here – which means it's time to unveil our brand new flip-covers, starring Bob Dylan and St. Vincent!
On May 24th, Robert Zimmerman, aka Bob Dylan, celebrates his 80th birthday. In a special issue to mark the occasion, Hot Press writers – including Dylan experts Anne Margaret Daniel and Pat Carty – explore different aspects of the extraordinary legacy of the world’s greatest songwriter.
Meanwhile, a selection of musicians, artists and bands (including Fontaines D.C., Villagers, David Keenan, Inhaler and Judy Collins) join in the celebrations, paying personal and collective tribute to the prodigious inspirational power of the Minnesota-born legend. Bob Dylan’s 80th birthday offers a special moment to reflect on – and hopefully to understand afresh – the poetry, the flair and the influence of a mercurial genius who changed music forever.
On the flip-cover, we talk to St Vincent, who's back with the acclaimed Daddy’s Home – an album inspired by the release of her father from prison. She talks openly and with remarkable honesty about her extraordinary life – and the attitudes and ideas that have made her one of the world’s most challenging and revered artists.
