Indie Supergroup BNQT annouce gig in Dublin's Vicar St.
Featuring members of Franz Ferdinand and Band of Horses, the band will be touring their debut album Volume 1
BNQT (pronounced "banquet") will be playing Dublin's Vicar Street on November 2. The idea for the band came from members of Midlake who wanted to round up some of their friends to form a indie supergroup.
As a result BNQT have 5 vocalists--Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses, Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, Jason Lytle of Grandaddy, Fran Healy of Travis, and Midlake’s Eric Pulido--who each contribute their own special something to the mix. The project is a deeply collaborative one, with each of these singers contributing 2 songs each to the album Volume 1.
In a press release, Eric Pulido of Midlake said he thought of the concept way back in 2013, and the group ended up being created through a lengthy process of global communication via email chains. They eventually got into studio but also shared recordings over the net. The result is an eclectic album that's hard to ignore.
Tickets priced €26.50 go on sale this Friday 21 July at 9am on Ticketmaster
