INEC Killarney, the largest music and multi-purpose venue in Ireland outside Dublin, has successfully completed the first stage of a significant production upgrade plan with the help of A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd.
AC-ET worked with the venue- which has hosted many national and international music acts including The Script, Tom Jones, Snow Patrol, Hozier, Walking on Cars, Kenny Rogers and Tom Jones - to specify and supply a complete new lighting rig including a full range of fixtures, cabling and lighting control desk.
The first artist to benefit from the new installations was Gavin James, Spotify’s 2016 Artist of the Year and winner of Choice Music’s Song of the Year Prize, who played to a sell-out audience on February 18.
Steven Douglas of Coruscate Lighting Design, the lighting designer of the show, commented
“I was delighted with the quality of the new ProLights lighting rig in the INEC Killarney. It has brought the venue to the forefront of the concert business in Ireland and stands up well against every other venue in the country and beyond. The support and rigging from the house crew and the provider of the new fixtures was also second to none and resulted in a great show for us and an easy day all around.”

Mark Egan, Director of Corporate and Leisure Events at INEC said – “This was a very important project for us – the production teams in the INEC can now offer the highest quality in house lighting options to suit the highest level of corporate gala, right through to full on rock and roll. We now have the tools to take any incoming production to the next level. We’ll use the rig to light the many festivals, gigs and events running through the summer, including Insomnia Gaming Ireland, Ireland’s gaming convention; Ireland Bikefest; and the Ireland Folkfest featuring Lisa Hannigan, Femi Kuti and the Positive Force, Hothouse Flowers, Bollywood Masala Orchestra, Wallis Bird and lots more.”
Aaron Cripps, AC-ET’s Regional Sales Representative for Eire said - “This has been a significant project for AC-ET in Ireland, which is an important market for us; we’ve been pleased to work closely with the INEC team to make sure we could supply everything they need. Our having access to a wide range of products, including the excellent ProLights range, makes a big difference.”
