The Irish band currently sits at No. 2 on the midweek chart.
Inhaler's third album, Open Wide (2025), has been overtaken in the race for this week's No. 1 UK album by Taylor Swift, after the release of a pre-Valentine's Day reissue of Lover (Live From Paris), according to midweek insights from Official Charts.
The Dublin four-piece's new album is currently looking likely to debut at No. 2, followed by Kendrick Lamar's GNX, whose sales have been propelled by the album's physical release and the rapper's much talked-about Super Bowl LIX half-time show.
The reissue of Lover (Live From Paris) follows the original release of the album as a limited edition vinyl in 2023. The new version, which features a double heart-shaped vinyl, has been released shortly before Valentine's Day.
Winning the race would entail a second UK No. 1 for Inhaler (following that of their 2021 debut album, It Won't Always Be Like This), while it would be Swift's 13th, some of her most recent being Speak Now (Taylor's Version) (2023), 1989 (Taylor's Version) (2023), and The Tortured Poets Department (2024).
Inhaler are dual-cover stars, alongside The Lumineers, of Hot Press' upcoming issue, out later this month, coinciding with the release of their album.
