Inhaler's sophomore album Cuts & Bruises lands later this month.
Inhaler have dropped their new single ‘If You’re Gonna Break My Heart’, building up further anticipation for the release of their second album.
Cuts & Bruises arrives on February 17th, with the Dublin band gracing our cover alongside the Academic next month.
The down-paced new single was inspired by the band’s time on the road.
“Whilst on tour in America last year we were listening to a lot of music by some of the great American writers such as Bob Dylan, The Band, Bruce Springsteen etc,” they explain. “Listening to these artists while travelling on big open highways resonated with us and helped shape this song into making us sound more like a live band than we had before.”
Infusing organ embellishments and a steady drum beat, the emphasis is on Eli Hewson's vocals and jangly guitar melodies.
"If you’re gonna break my heart / Smash it to pieces / Cause I’m not gonna need it / As much as I do right now," he sings on the chorus.

Elsewhere, Inhaler will appear on the new series of Other Voices, which will be returning for its 21st season on February 16. The acclaimed music show is set to be broadcast every Thursday at 11pm on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player. Inhaler join The Big Moon, Gemma Dunleavy and Pa Sheehy for Episode 2, which airs on Thursday, February 23rd.
The indie rockers also made it to Live Lounge, playing their first performance in the BBC Radio 1 studio on January 26th. The quartet played 'Love Will Get You There' and covered Miley Cyrus' No.1 hit 'Flowers'.
