The Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist’s eagerly awaited second album is set to arrive on March 1.
Since the release of her critically acclaimed debut, The King Has Two Horse’s Ears, in 2015, Dublin-based indie-folk musician Inni-K has become a powerful force in Irish music. She has now announced that her new album, The Hare & The Line, will be released on March 1.
Eithne Ní Chatháin, known professionally as Inni-K, comes from a background steeped in folk and traditional music. Combining these roots with international influences, such as Bjork, Nina Simone, and Joni Mitchell, Inni-K has paved a bold new path in Irish music. The Kildare-born artist has shared stages with Glen Hansard, Lisa Hannigan, Malian kora master Toumani Diabate, and American jazz drummer Jeff Ballard, among many others.
The Hare & The Line promises to be an even more raw and evocative project than Inni-K’s debut. She has commented that the upcoming album came from a much less solitary place than The King Has Two Horse’s Ears:
“There is a more organic quality to these songs I feel – perhaps an ease and a looseness that has come from playing and working together with the musicians on the record and the team involved in helping make it happen. It has been a very creative winter, and I can’t wait to bring these songs out in the spring!”
The album’s first single, ‘Just After’, is due to be released on February 1.
