Prepare your eardrums for another dose of anti-establishment, vitriolic punk poetry courtesy of Dundalk’s finest, Jinx Lennon. The bard has released the follow-up to the sublime Trauma Themes Idiot Times, The National Cancer Strategy.
In addition to Jinx’s perfectly crafted rallies against the system the album features the mesmerising vocals of Miss Paula Flynn and guest appearances from Captain Moonlight, Dublin poet Stephen James and former Whipping Boy Colm Hassett.
According to the press release the sound veers from Suicide’s second record to the second Jinx album 30 Beacons Of Light For A Land Full of Spite,Thugs, Drug Slugs and Energy Vampires. See the reviews section for Peter Murphy’s verdict!

Thurles rock/fusion/experimental outfit Anonymous I have just made three new tracks – ‘Stand Up And Take It’, ‘Car Activiate’ and ‘Start Again’ – available to download on iTunes. Mayo’s New Sunset Hotel have just released debut single ‘The Bitter End’ in the UK. The track made the top ten digital singles chart here on its release in May.
The band were approached by WET Record’s founder John Earls during the summer. On hearing the song on the band’s MySpace, he was keen to give it a UK release.

On the subject of Bell X1, the band have just completed a highly successful US tour and are set to hit the road for a domestic jaunt this month celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the release of their debut album Neither Am I. Navan five-piece The Whatmans have just release their second single ‘Kiss The Mind’. It was penned following a visit to a lap-dancing club – purely for research purposes, mind – where they talked to some of the girls at the end of the night and got an insight into their attitude to the job. The song was produced by Fintan Moore and mastered by Aidan Foley. It’s taken from the forthcoming album Fire Up The Masses which is due for release in February 2011...
