Our favourite indie wallflowers return with a cracking new tune. Roisin Dwyer investigates...
February is synonymous with romantic pairings (with the gag-inducing Hallmark Day bang in the middle of the month).
This year we can look forward to a far more interesting coupling. (Drum roll) Stellar domestic labels Out On A Limb and Popical Island have come together to release a Windings/Land Lovers 11-track split album, available on 12” vinyl and download. The collection is preceded by the excellent double-A side single ‘Neverwood’ (Windings) / ‘Vittima di Cucina’ (Land Lovers) – check it out on hotpress.com people!
The Windings tracks mark their first release since the Choice-nominated I Am Not The Crow. The good news from the camp is that more new material will be with us before the end of the year. And as if that was not wondrous enough, both bands will embark on a small nationwide tour to support the split release – hurrah! Details TBC but keep checking hotpress.com for an imminent announcement!.....
Continuing with LP news, Dublin garage outfit The Revellions launch their new opus, Give It Time, in The Grand Social on February 21. The band began recording in Cirrco Perrotti in Gijon, Spain with Mike Mariconda and Jorge Explosion, with the final touches applied at home. The project has been three years in the making due to personnel changes. Check out teaser track ‘Bitter And Twisted’.
Wicklow trio All The Luck In The World have released their self-titled debut album. You can get our verdict in Critical Mass. Lead track ‘Never’ has garnered over 800,000 views on YouTube and was snapped up by travel comparison site Trivago for inclusion in their TV ad campaign. Ones to watch methinks!...
