Hot Press takes a look at some of the best festivals from out of Ireland.
In the 18 years since its beginning, Primavera Sound has evolved and grown into a comprehensive and eclectic festival. In a demonstration of their devotion to equality, Primavera Sound have become the first large scale festival to showcase equal representation of gender across their line-up, featuring just as many female artists as male. From the very beginning, a broad spectrum of artists and genres have been showcased across the many stages of Primavera. Whether it’s the urban beats of hip-hop and reggaeton, the underground flair of electronic dance or the more established sounds of pop and rock that appeal to your senses, there will be something for even the most musically inept to enjoy. Either side of the weekend, secret performances, record fairs and a whole array of other shows will be popping up all across this breath-taking city. Positioned on the seafront complex of Parc del Fòrum, you can soak up the Spanish sunshine while broadening your musical horizons. This festival transcends the bounds of classification, whether that be through genre or gender.
