Tom McFarland and Josh Lloyd Watson of Jungle joined Colm O’Regan in the Hot Press Speakeasy this afternoon to discuss making their next album, being on the same label as Adele and England’s chances at the Euros.
The pair were in chatty form ahead of their 8pm Main Stage slot this evening, which they're hoping will go better than a recent festival appearance in France: “The night before, the main stage had collapsed, so they were rebuilding the main stage in the park while we stood there freezing. There was a power cut during the gig as well.”
On working towards a new album, the pair told Hot Press that “We have started making it. But making albums takes time, and we’re just trying to enjoy that at the moment… You don’t want to try to make something that you think you’ve heard before, and that’s the challenge really.”
Full of chat about Glastonbury (who knew that the perimeter fence was the same size as Bath?), Jungle have certainly done a thorough tour of the festival circuit. They tantalise that tonight might beat the pinnacle of their performances in Ireland, which had previously been a performance in the Olympia: “Today, who knows, sun’s out!”
Join them at the Main Stage this evening, where there’s no doubt they’ll draw a crowd.
