Hot Press caught up with Gar Byrne of The Riptide Movement for a short tweet twinterview...
@hotpress: How are you today, Gar?
@theriptiderock: Great yeah, couldn’t be better!
@hotpress: You played two shows in the Olympia Theatre last week, how’d it go?
@theriptiderock: It was fuckin’ amazing. We didn’t know what it was gonna be like doing two nights but it was incredible. The crowd were just brilliant.
@hotpress: You’ve got a few more live shows coming up soon including Glastonbury and the Stones gig in Hyde Park. Excited?
@theriptiderock: I can’t wait for the Glasto weekend. We’ve never been over before so it should be good. The Stones should be deadly as well. Supporting one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands of all-time – wow!
@hotpress: How’s the new album coming along?
@theriptiderock: We just finished it up there before we went out on the road. We recorded it with Ted Hutt who’s worked with the Gaslight Anthem and the Dropkick Murphys. He’s mixing it in LA as we speak.

@hotpress: What was it like working with Ted?
@theriptiderock: It was an amazing experience. He’s such a really good dude and pushed everyone to their limit, in a good way. It’s genuinely the best thing we’ve done.
@hotpress: Have you played any of the new tracks live yet?
@theriptiderock: Yeah, we played four of them in the Olympia. We also threw in a cover of ‘Halo’ by Beyoncé as well, which confused people a bit! Good music is good music...
