The re-release will feature demos, new mixes, unreleased outtakes and a bonus interview.
INXS have announced the 40th anniversary re-release of Listen Like Thieves, featuring previously unreleased tracks.
Out May 9 through Rhino, the reissue includes a new stereo mix, unreleased outtakes, studio demos, a BBC recording of Live From The Royal Albert Hall in 1986, a new Dolby Atmos mix and an interview with the band by Paul Sexton. The new release was mixed by Giles Martin and Paul Hicks.
“40 years on, Giles and Paul captured the original raw energy we felt when we first recorded the album and created a sonic depth to give the record an entirely new dimension that we couldn’t be prouder of,” said the band’s keyboardist Andrew Farriss in a statement.
Originally produced by Chris Thomas, Listen Like Thieves was recorded in London in 1985. Thomas, who also worked with bands like the Beatles, Pink Floyd and the Pretenders, began an extensive collaboration with INXS.

“Chris Thomas was one of the most talented and exciting producers we ever had the privilege to work with. From the moment we met, there was no doubt he would bring a new dynamic to our music, his drive and determination helped Michael and I deliver a smash hit in ‘What You Need,’” said Farriss.
