Seven nods for TV3's new soap, but RTÉ dominate proceedings
While RTÉ dominate the nominations for the Irish Film and Television Academy awards, it's a newcomer - from outside of the realm of the national broadcaster - that has made the biggest splash.
Red Rock claimed seven nominations, outshining its rival Fair City, which received four. Moone Boy is the most nominated comedy, followed closely by Mrs Brown's Boys and The Savage Eye.
A new category for Best Live Event has brought a nomination for Vincent Browne's broadcast from The George on May 23, as Ireland celebrated the groundbreaking Marriage Equality Referendum.
