The Eurovision 2025 semi-finals roster has been confirmed as Ireland prepare to nominate a contestant.
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest semi-final dates have been announced, with Ireland performing on May 15. The first semi-final is due to take place on May 13.
Of the 31 countries competing in the semi-finals, 20 will be voted into the grand-final on May 17. The Big Five - Germany, the UK, France, Italy and Spain are automatically placed in the grand-final every year. Switzerland, as the host country, will also be granted automatic entry. These six will not compete in the semi-finals.
Ireland will perform alongside Armenia, Australia, Austria, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, and Montenegro. France, Germany, and the UK will be voting on these performances.
Though the semi-final dates have been released, Ireland has yet to hold a national selection competition. The Late Late Eurosong Special will take place on February 7, with the six musicians below competing for the chance to represent Ireland at the Eurovision contest.

Last year, Ireland’s Bambie Thug placed sixth in the Eurovision grand-final, performing ‘Doomsday Blue’. Switzerland’s Nemo won overall with their performance of ‘The Code’.
The 2024 contest in Malmö, Sweden, proved to be controversial. Much of this was due to the decision to allow Israel to participate, and to prevent the display of Palestinian symbols. The Netherlands' contestant, Joost Klein, was disqualified over alleged harassment of a female member of production staff. Israel remains a competitor in this year's contest.
