The Galway-based rising star, tipped as one of our Hot for 2019 Irish Acts, has announced a new EP, set to arrive on June 26.
Cat Turner has returned with a brand new single, 'Situation', ahead of her highly anticipated EP release later this month. Since bursting onto the scene with her debut EP last year, the electro-synth artist has been featured as a Hot Press Hot for 2019 Irish Act, while her single 'Waster', which explored millennial relationships against an irresistible bass line, was picked up as one of our Tracks of the Day.
‘Situation’ marks an ever-growing confidence for this exciting young artist, who has built a steadily growing fan base through her live performances at Electric Picnic and support slots for Pillow Queens and Le Galaxie.
In a statement about the release of 'Situation', Turner delved into the concept behind the track:
“It’s a song about everything I'm not doing. I'm very driven and tend to get into my own bubble in life. It burst a little recently and I realised I was really missing out on a lot in life and generally just in what was going on around me. The song is that realisation and trying to figure out what to do with that.”
The Galway-based artist recently revealed that her new EP is set for a June 26 release. Last week, RTE 2FM's Dan Hegarty featured 'Situation' as his Tune of The Day.
