"I grew up in Sligo in the northwest of Ireland – very rural, lots of farmers," the artists shared during the broadcast.
"All I wanted to do when I was growing up was to be in a city around noise and music... 'New York State of Mind' for me is about loving London, loving my independent life and enjoying this time while I’m here right now."
The artist, known for using creativity to challenge norms and empower others, also talked about self-expression.
"I want to be a positive example for anyone figuring themselves out," he said. "Self-expression isn’t just about style – it’s about building a better tomorrow by starting with who we are today."
Evin is set to release his new single 'She Thinks I'm Gay' on May 16.
"Everyone assumes I’m gay because of how I dress or dance — this song owns that moment, with joy," he said.
