"I’m here to make good music, make people mad, and help change the industry norm," Spider said in an interview with Hot Press.
Dublin singer-songwriter Spider released her new song 'AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL' today (28th February). The track comes with a new music video, directed by Ashley Rommelrath.
In the video, you can see Spider surrounded by mostly white cisgender men who call her names, but the producer/singer-songwriter remains stoically unbothered. She claps back by repeatedly asking, "Why're you so scared?" to edgy rock riffs and a wall of noise warping out her defiant vocals.
On Instagram the rising musician wrote: "I put my heart and soul into creating something like this with a message, this is exactly the first thing I wanted you to get from me after almost a year and now it’s here and in the physical."
"To have someone in your corner who sees your big ideas and lifts them up in the way she does is such a blessing," Spider said of her manager, Victoria Parkey.

The song was produced by Earl Saga, whom Spider calls "one of the best people I have the pleasure of calling a friend," continuing, "I wouldn’t have been able to make this song with anyone else."
Spider made her debut in 2021 with the singles 'Water Sign' and 'I'm fine! I'm good! I'm perfect!', which later appeared on the singer's first EP, C.O.A. (2022). Spider said in an interview with Hot Press that the EP was "inspired by all the coming-of-age moments" when she moved to London.
"C.O.A is what finding myself has sounded like so far, from the perspective of a young person of colour just figuring out life."
