The MME Awards dished out €60,000 of total prize money amongst the winners, in addition to Spotify and Deezer recording sessions.
Irish band Kingfishr have won this year’s Music Moves Europe Awards, alongside five other artists.
Chosen by a jury of five music professionals, the other winners include Judeline from Spain, Naomi Sharon from the Netherlands, Night Tapes from Estonia and UCHE Yara from Austria. Fifteen artists were initially nominated. Yamê, a French musician, earned the Grand Jury Award, and Judeline also received the Public Choice Award, voted on by fans.
“Music breaks barriers and brings people together. It composes the soundtrack of our lives,” said awards presenter and EU Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, Gleen Micallef. “I am so proud to witness such a variety of sheer talent, bringing the promise of a bright future for the European music scene.”
The MME Award winners each receive a €10,000 prize. The Grand Jury Award winner also receives an additional Green Touring Voucher of €5,000, designed to help the artist create a more environmentally sustainable tour. The Public Choice Award winner, in addition to €5,000, also receives an exclusive recording session to produce a Spotify Single in the company’s Stockholm studio.

The awards ceremony was followed by the annual festival and conference, ESNS. The 15 MME nominees performed at the event in Groningen, and were invited to the MME Education Programme. Two of the nominees are also invited to record a Deezer Session.
The MME Awards aim to recognize emerging artists in the music scene. Past winners include musicians like Zaho de Sagazan, Stromae, ROSALÍA, girl in red, Dua Lipa, Hozier, Jerry Heil, Meduza and Rimon.
