Major Lazer have shared the new music video for their latest single, 'Lay Your Head On Me', featuring Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Major Lazer and Mumford were forced to creatively envision a video for the track while abiding by social distancing restrictions – enlisting director Filip Nilsson and renowned choreographer Ryan Heffington (Sia, Florence & The Machine, FKA Twigs, Christine and the Queens).
Nilsson selected a cast of artists from around the world to contribute to the video through music and movement. With 117 clips from 28 countries, the global collaboration is a fitting celebration of humanity for Earth Day during these uncertain times.
Among the artists and creators who contributed to the video are Dream Catchers Academy (an academy of orphaned children in Nigeria), London dancer Ashraf Ejjbair, and Brazilian brothers Renan and Renato – one of whom is blind, and is seen learning the choreography from his brother in the video.
“When we started working with this simple idea over a month ago COVID-19 had just started to get a grip of the world," Nilsson explains. "During these weeks we have seen tapes from people all over the world. The response was way more than could have been expected and it was amazing to see the different interpretations of what we requested from people. The positivity and honest love they shared is something I really wanted to come through in this video.”

'Lay Your Head On Me' follows Major Lazer's acclaimed 'Que Calor', featuring J Balvin and El Alfa, which was performed by Balvin at the Super Bowl alongside Jennifer Lopez. The single has since topped charts worldwide – clocking up over 400 million streams to date.
Major Lazer, a global dance trio made up of Diplo, Walshy Fire and Ape Drums, are set to release their highly anticipated fourth album later this year.
