The Irish folk legend Finbar Furey is releasing his newest album Moments In Time this Friday, 29 September, a day after his 77th birthday.

The album shows Furey “looking back vagaries of life” and will feature a collection of Furey's own compositions, alongside four well-known traditional songs including 'Kitty', 'The Rocks of Bawn', 'Slieve Gallen Braes' and 'The Parting Glass'.

The album has been years in the making, its rollout having been impacted by the pandemic, but that just made Furey "even happier to get to this point."

Having been in the music industry for over 55 years, Furey has also decided to not embark on any tours accompanying the album. He "feels this is the right time to stop and devote more time to his family, friends and to the golf course!"

However, his break in touring does not mean an end for his music career- he announced that he is "busy writing and recording" and will continue to make music into the future.
