Everybody Talks is the band's first release on their new label.
Cork-based up and coming band Rowan have announced a new EP, Everybody Talks. Out on July 23, it’s their first release on their new Los Angeles-based label, Beverly Martel. Coinciding with the news, the trio have also shared the title track from the project.
Rowan have described their fast-paced new single as an exploration of "that feeling you have when it seems everybody is out to get you".
'Everybody Talks' is accompanied by a new music video, featuring the band walking in slow motion through an old mansion with the band going for a "groggy morning after aesthetic".
Most of the tracks on the new EP were written during the pandemic last year. Rowan's vocalist Dylan Howe said that “We figured doing anything was better than radio silence. We just wanted to connect to people”.
They have described the writing process for the EP as a frantic period where they gave each other song-writing challenges as a creative experiment.

“It was a bit of a speed writing period, where we gave ourselves deadlines and motivations, there were some great and some not so great songs written," Dylan said. "But I think even in the not so great, there are gems of inspiration. We picked 20 of our favourite songs and put them in a playlist, then we cut it down to 10 and then 5.”
Everybody Talks follows Rowan's debut EP No One Is Safe Here, released in November of last year. The band are also already in the process of creating their debut album.
