Brand new Irish-language music show filmed at last year’s Night and Day festival in Roscommon is due to air on TG4 this summer.
Brought to the screen by Red Shoe Productions, the five-part series will include performances from Villagers, Mary Wallopers, Moxie, Orla Gartland as well as a host of other Irish and international acts.
The idyllic Clonalis House Played host to the Night and Day inaugural festival. Founded by Cruachan Productions , the Roscommon-based festival features brilliant music along with varied cultural acts to accompany a family-friendly itinerary, keeping adults and children alike entertained for the weekend. The two-day festival played host to campers nationwide for the final hurrah of the festival season.
The series, hosted by Kayte O’Malley and Cian Ó Maonlaí, features headline performances from the Queen Medb stage, and backstage interviews with artists. As is always the case with TG4, both O’Malley and Ó Maonlaí made their presenting debut on the programme.
Cian, who is the son of renowned musician Liam Ó Maonlaí, is a talented artist in his own right, as the lead singer of band Big Love. From Kerry, Kayte is a multi-award-winning radio broadcaster. She currently presents drivetime on Galway Bay FM, having moved from iLove Irish- a specialist Irish music show on iRadio.
The series was also edited by Waterford IT film graduate, Cian Cusack, who is employed in post-production at Red Shoe, and enjoyed time behind the camera at the festival.

Festival organisers Cruachan Productions’ Craig Hughes commented ahead of the broadcast stating, “Last year was a really special event for us, seeing something that we dreamed about for so long coming together.”
Continuing, Mr Hughes said, “We are so happy that Red Shoe Productions and TG4 were there to capture it all and to share the experience with the nation.”
“We’re excited to showcase our festival on TG4, which has been a consistent supporter of the arts, and look forward to welcoming some of the audience to the second part of the adventure in our new location at the end of June.”
This year’s Night and Day festival is due to take place June 24th-25th.
Tickets from €90 are available now via the festival’s website.
