The hotly-tipped act were among the finalists of the A New Local Hero competition earlier this year.
Irish seven-piece Projective are set to release their debut single, ‘Running’. The track - out this Friday - is a mixture of neo-soul R&B and hip hop, with varying tempos and drum and bass inspired rhythms. The group have recorded their debut single with double platinum producer Cian Sweeney, who has worked with the likes of Malaki, Le Boom and Shiv.
Talking about the single, the band explains: “Running is one of the first songs we wrote around the time that the band started. We wanted to write about the feeling of not being able to slow your mind down when it’s caught up in thinking negatively, be that about a relationship or another worrying situation in your life.
“We jammed the chorus idea and the hook fell into place soon after. The song has so many different vibes and sections but it all felt right in the moment, so we decided to run with it. The recording process was very gratifying. We had spent months performing the song live, and to finally get to hear it being produced and coming to life in a form that can now live forever was a special feeling,” the band said in a statement.
