The “lil rap legends” gained huge popularity on X after their song and accompanying music video went viral.
‘The Spark’, a high energy electronic pop song created by young rappers through the Kabin Studio, a not-for-profit youth and community-based studio in Cork's Northside, has gone viral on social media following its release.
The fast-paced, colourful music video for ‘The Spark’ has now received over 8 million views across YouTube, X and other sites.
Crowds of Irish youths are seen in the video, dancing to the uptempo song in many different locations including a club, the upstairs of a bus, and in front of graffiti covered walls around Cork.
The chorus of the song is bursting with confidence and passion for embracing creativity with the children roaring "Think you can stop what we do? I doubt it/We've got the energy, we'll tell you all about it/I searched for my spark and I found it/Everybody in the crowd start bouncin'!"
RTÉ followed up on X after the video rose in popularity, to give credit to producer Garry McCarthy (GMCBeats), The Kabin Studio, the Rhyme Island initiative, and the video's filmmaker Seán Downey.

The song was created to promote the launch of Cruinniú na nÓg 2024, Ireland's national day of celebrating youth creativity, which will be taking place on Saturday, June 15.
It was produced as part of Rhyme Island, a youth rap initiative powered by GMCBeats and the Kabin Studio, in collaboration with the Creative Ireland Programme and Cruinniú na nÓg 2024.
The children from the Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew joined forces to record ‘The Spark’, with GMC Beats ambassadors MC Tiny (15) and Lil' Sophia (11), and support from the young rappers of the Southside Travellers Action Group.
Other rappers featured in the song were Taiguara Murphy Barbosa Pereira (13) and Charley-Rose Ashton (13), ambassadors for (ISACS) Irish Street Arts, as well as Circus and Spectacle Network, Joe Ó Curraín (9) and TG4 and RTÉ’s This is Art 2023 winners Zihan He (15) and Maimoonah Syed (7).
McCarthy expressed how proud of everyone involved in the project he was, saying that he's "never bored" when he gets to work with "lil legends like these."
