As a young female musician in Ireland, Erica Cody looked up to people like Dolores O'Riordan. "Her voice was so unique, sweet and gritty all in one. Especially being the front woman to all-male musicians can only leave you feeling inspired, not only that but also her songwriting capabilities. Dreams has always been one of my favourite Irish songs," she says.

So how did her involvement in the single for Safe Ireland come about?

"Ruthanne originally approached me with the idea and I immediately thought it was a winner. Not only to showcase all the female artists, singer, songwriters and musicians Ireland has to offer. But, how we can all be brought together to help raise money for an amazing charity like Safe. I had suggested to Ruthanne that maybe ‘Dreams’ would be a really fitting song, then it all went from there! Ruthanne has done such an incredible job organising everything, I’ve personally looked up to her for a very long time so was very excited to see all of us coming together."

Cody's career has been a rich one already, and her smooth R&B stylings took Ireland by storm when she began releasing music. Though she looks up to the trailblazers on the track, it's no secret that Cody is swiftly joining their ranks as a trailblazer herself.

"For every young woman and young girl listening and watching this performance to feel inspired and empowered! Music has an amazing capability of bringing people together and giving hope, so I really do hope anyone listening see’s the light at the end of the tunnel if they’re going through a difficult time."
