The single features over thirty of Ireland's most exciting female artists. Some are legacies in themselves and some are emerging talents, but all of them are integral to the rich and diverse culture of Irish music.
When RuthAnne decided to cover 'Dreams' for Safe Ireland, she never expected she would have such a groundswell of support and interest from other Irish artists. But word-of-mouth is a powerful thing, and by the time the single came to full fruition, RuthAnne had 38 other female musicians and artists behind her.
The line up is saturated with the best and most exciting female artists working in Ireland today. The collective, called Irish Women in Harmony, consists of: Ailbhe Reddy, Aimée, Áine Cahill, Allie Sherlock, Caroline Corr, Elaine Mai, Emma Langford, Erica Cody, Eve Belle, Faye O'Rourke (Soda Blonde), Fia Moon, Imelda May, Laoise, Lilla Vargen, Lisa Hannigan, Loah, Lyra, Melina Malone, Moya Brennan, Niamh Farrell, Orla Gartland, Pillow Queens, Roe, Róisín O, RuthAnne, Saint Sister, Sibéal, Soulé, Stephanie Rainey, Tolü Makay, Una Healy, Wyvern Lingo, Aoife Dennedy, Louize Carroll, Lucia McPartlin, Maria O'Connor, Maria Ryan, Sarah Lynch and Theodora Byrne.
In an effort to aid the Safe Ireland campaign and to showcase the inimitable talent of the musicians involved, Hot Press will be releasing special Q&As with the artists. The women involved in the single will discuss what Dolores O'Riordan means to them and the importance of a charity like Safe Ireland – especially in the wake of Covid-19 – among other things. So keep your eyes peeled as we help to amplify these incredible voices in the Irish music industry!
