Music Industry Xplained, now in its third year at Dun Laoghaire Colege of Further Education, is now open for applications for the course beginning Septemer 23
Applications are currently being taken for the next MIX (Music Industry Xplained) course which is running from September 23 to December 9 2003 at the Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education.
Now in its third year, MIX covers such key areas as record companies, music marketing, legal issues, management, image development, record production, songwriting, music publishing, media, live performance, finance, distribution and touring.
Says course manager Suzanne Lappin: "We are taking enrolments earlier this year because of the increased demand for places on the MIX courses. The continuing success of Irish artists is attracting an increasing number of people to careers in the music business, but too many do not take the time to learn how the music industry works on a practical level. The MIX course is designed to fill that need. The first two MIX courses attracted over sixty students, several of whom subsequently found work placements in the industry."
