Our favourite day of the year has finally arrived
Rare and discounted vinyl, record giveaways and live performances from some of the most talented acts in the country, Record Store Day 2016 is going to be epic.
RSD is Christmas Day for music addicts. All year, we wait patiently for our most cherished musicians to release their hidden rarities. Of course, 2016 is no exception. This year's selection is bound to vanish like gold dust, with artists such as David Bowie, Glen Hansard and Noel Gallagher, all available.
There'll be live performances in Tower Records, Dawson Street, from 12pm to 6pm. We'll be in Tower to catch The Young Folk, who've released their second album First Sign Of Morning, September Girls, who've put out their excellent second LP Age Of Indignation, only days ago and alternative-garage rockers Fangclub. Then, we are dashing over to Freebird on Wicklow Street, to see Owensie at 3pm.
Some of the exclusives available for RSD include:
David Bowie The Man Who Sold The World picture disc LP or his TVC15 7" picture disc?
Foals Rain/Daffodils 7",
Clint Mansell Requiem For A Dream OST,
Glen Hansard A Season on the Line LP,
Madonna Like A Virgin & Other Big Hits LP,
The Doors France / America 2016 LP,
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds El Mexicano (The Reflex 'La Revolucion' Remixes) 12"
and many more treasures.
