The X-Men universe welcomes three new movies to the ever-growing franchise.
Fans of the X-Men universe can expect a few upcoming sequels to some of the most popular movies in the franchise.
Producer Simon Kinberg confirmed in an interview that the third Wolverine movie is currently in the works, and that Deadpool 2 will start filming in 2017. Kinberg also commented that the spinoff Gambit, with Channing Tatum in the lead role, is back on track with a great new script and plans to start shooting in the spring of next year.
The production of Gambit has been delayed by two years due to lead actor Channing Tatum's busy schedule, but Kinberg promises that the cameras will start rolling in 2017.
Of the three projects, Wolverine 3 will hit the theatres the soonest with a release date in March of 2017. The movie will be lead actor Hugh Jackman's last run as Wolverine, after which he plans to hang up his claws for good.

Fox announced that director Tim Miller and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be returning for the Deadpool sequel. Kinberg also mentioned that he would begin writing the next of the mainline X-Men movies after shooting for Deadpool 2 wraps up.
The premiere date of Deadpool 2 will be announced any day now, but until then X-Men fans will have the release of Wolverine 3 to look forward to on March 3, 2017.
