Postcards From The Edge will describe tales of how communities have rallied in the last 18 months.
Jack Lukeman has announced a new weekly podcast series called Postcards From The Edge, inviting people from Ireland and beyond to send in their stories to him.
The podcast kicks off next Wednesday (September 22) at 8pm with special guest Keith Barry joining Lukeman. During the series, Lukeman will invite people to share personal tales from the Emerald Isle and further afield. Further episodes will air on Wednesday, October 6th and 13th at 8pm, respectively.
The singer “will meet local heroes, sing songs with musical guests and celebrate your stories.” The aim of the heartwarming podcast is to share people’s stories about what they have done to help their communities during the Covid-19 crisis.
Postcards From The Edge is set to be a “heartwarming and intimate” series with future guests including Anna McPartlin, Moving Still, Dashoda, Leo Hofnug and The Muslim Sisters of Eire, An Gaisce and Men's Sheds.
The 4-part series was developed with The Wheel, a national association of community and voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises.

The podcasts will feature paintings, poems, music, TikTok videos, and postcards “with messages of love and support” from the public. An Post has provided a free post address for people to get involved in the series. Contributions can be sent to 'Postcards from the Edge, POBOX 13420, Freepost FDN7530, Dublin 2'.
Lukeman will perform in each podcast alongside members of Music Generation’s ReCentering Ensemble, The X-Collective and Jack Curran.
Postcards From The Edge follows up the success of Lukeman’s spring lockdown series where he played weekly live stream shows. The rock 'n’ roll artist also shared Streamed - The Best of the Lockdown Sessions - Vol 1 which included fan favourite tracks from the live stream events.
"During the many lockdowns, I broadcast a weekly streaming series isolated on the top of a hill in Laois. These were my postcards from the Edge,” said Lukeman.
“It turned out while I was feeling this way, I wasn't the only one - and people would respond with messages, requesting songs, saying hello to loved ones in a foreign land, sharing stories of joy and sadness.”
“These messages have inspired this new series when I get out and meet people and hear their stories. Send me your postcards, your dreams, music and creations digitally or analogue, and I'll include your stories on the show,” he added.
The podcast will be broadcast from the Malt House venue in Stradbally, Co. Laois and is available on Lukeman’s website and his Facebook page. The series is produced by Another Avenue and is supported by the Live Performance Support Scheme.
