The Back To Black actor steps behind the camera to shoot a music video for the U.K music icon Paul Weller.
Jack O’Connell, who stars as Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, in the biopic Back To Black, is making his directorial debut with a music video for Paul Weller’s new upcoming track ‘Nothing.’ The song will be part of Weller’s new album, 66, set to release in May.
O’Connell is best known for films such as ‘71, Starred Up and Ferrari. While the collaboration marks his first step as a director, it's not the first project linking him with Weller: in 2011, the British actor starred in United, which contained Weller's song 'Devotion' in its soundtrack.

In a recent interview with Variety, O’Connell said: “It was a good stroke of fortune. Paul’s been a mate for a while and he’s got a bunch of new music coming out. He asked me to be in [a video] and I said, ‘Can I direct it instead?’ He obliged. And now we’ve edited it and cut it together.”
Back to Black is set to release in Ireland and the U.K on Friday April 12 through Studiocanal, following a world premiere in London on April 8.
Weller will also be playing in Dublin's Trinity College on July 4. Tickets retail from €59.90 and are available here.
