Dublin-based glam pop artist Jack Rua has pledged to donate 100% of the iTunes presale proceeds of debut album Narcissus to Black Pride Ireland.
Jack has so far released two singles - 'Scarlet A' and 'Ego', released in March 2019 and July 2019 respectively. Amalgamating elements of glam, dance, folk and theatre; Jack has developed his own mark to be made across the pop spectrum.
Heavily influenced by the glamorous, eccentric stylings of David Bowie, Lady Gaga and Prince, Jack is carving a space for himself in the music industry, "one where authenticity and depth can go hand in hand with artificiality and excess".
Rua was all set to release promotional single 'Reflection' next week, but has decided that the current societal upheaval requires attention ahead of new music.
"I have been thinking a lot about whether or not it is appropriate for me to release music right now given the current state of the world," Rua wrote on Instagram page today.

"I feel uncomfortable trying to promote something at a time when it is more important than ever to use social media to spread awareness and information."
"I was meant to be bringing out a promotional single called 'Reflection' on the 12th of June, however I'm going to cancel this because I don't feel like the immediate present is the right time to be promoting new music," he added.
"My album Narcissus will come out on the 26th of June, two days before the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. As a tribute to the queer, black people who paved the way for all of us to live the lives we live, I am pledging to donate 100% of the proceeds for my album's iTunes pre-sale to Black Pride Ireland, a movement for queer Black people in Ireland."
