It was a fantastic finale down Dundalk way last night.
The curtain was drawn on another round of Jagermeister Sessions with a real flourish on Thursday evening. The setting was Brubaker's in the centre of city-in-waiting Dundalk.
Having thrilled the capital two nights before, Derry-gal (split allegiances) act Mojo Gogo were first up and they proved a tailor-made opening act. All nagging melodies, razor sharp riffs and high energy, they got the crowd hooked early doors.
They were followed by The Ambience Affair, an intense Dublin triangle proving that the power trio is still a formidable proposition in a live setting. They made the walls rattle and should make waves further afield in 2013.
Next up was Toby Kaar, with the Corkonian electro whizz kid effortlessly proving why 2012 has most definitely been his year.
The Original Rudeboys' star rises by the day – The Script just confirmed them as support for their forthcoming European tour – and they proved why audiences are falling at their collective East Wall feet on the night. Combining rap with soulful, earworm hiphop hooks, guitar and that ever-present mandolin, they've stumbled upon a sound quite unlike any other Irish act and are reaping the benefits. They also know how to get a party started.

As for the Jagermeister Freezer Sessions, that performance marked the end of the 2012 party.
The series has already brought great line-ups of Irish talent to Galway, Cork, Waterford and Limerick. The Penultimate seshon Tuesday saw epic guitar act Tandem Felix, the aforementioned Mojo Gogo, alien synth pop duo Nanu Nanu and flagbearers of the Dublin indie scene Leaders Of Men storm The Workman's Club stage.
