Following the release of Jake Bugg's new single 'Zombieland' from his latest album, the artist has announced a run of 2024 UK and Europe dates
English singer-songwriter, Jake Bugg, returns with his sixth album A Modern Day Distraction, out September 20 on RCA records.
With a string of shows across Ireland from June 19-23 already announced, Bugg will return November 21 in National Stadium, Dublin this with the newly released album.
The record was born from the singer's frustration of societal inequality and shines a light on the injustice he’s seen dealt to the family and friends he grew up with.
“It pisses me off – especially in a country like ours where we have the means and funds to take care of the people suffering the most, but we choose not to,” the artist explained.
The album announcement came with the release of the lead single, ‘Zombieland’, which is described as an ode to the many broken by the inescapable daily grind, trudging on with a stiff upper lip by the singer.

“It’s fucking brutal,” he said of the people he’s known who exist in “a constant cycle of working to live”.
“They’re not paid what they’re worth. People have the same routine every day, they’re at work more than they see their kids, then the government puts the retirement age up. It’s not right,” Bugg added.
The rock artist opened for Liam Gallagher and John Squire in March and April of this year on the European tour of their collaboration album where, armed only with an acoustic guitar, his support slot had the crowd in full voice from start to finish.
Bugg released his self-titled debut album in October 2012 which swiftly jumped to number one on the UK Albums Chart, and has since released many EP’s and singles.
Tickets for the November tour will be available across artist & O2 presales on May 22 and promoter presale on May 23. General on sale will be 10 am Friday May 24 from here.
