The 50-year-old songwriter made the promise via X, but with a slight catch.
Musician James Blunt has said that he will legally change his name to whatever the public decides, if the re-release of his album Back to Bedlam reaches No 1.
The album was one of the best-selling albums of the 2000s in the UK, and is 17th on the list of the best-selling in UK chart history.
Blunt announced via a video message on X, that the album is being re-released on October 11 to mark its 20th anniversary, featuring hits such as ‘You’re Beautiful’, ‘Goodbye My Lover’, and ‘High’.
“I’ll let the people decide”, Blunt says in the video, adding: “But if it doesn’t go to number one, I’m not changing my name”.
The musician used the hashtag #jameswho to ask fans to comment their name suggestions below the post. The winner will be the most-liked suggestion.
